Movie Review: 2007 - Juno

Directed by Jason Reitman with Diablo Cody wirting for it, Juno is a pleasant surprise and very heartwarming. It’s comedy especially was very entertaining for me, though probably a lot viewers today may find some jokes out of date in today’s age. Despite that the story written is rather unconventional and is a reality most chose not to acknowledge. There are some uncomfortable moments but those moments are few and far between and when you least expect it they pull out from under the rug and take in directions I the viewer didn’t expect upon first watch.

The four main leads, Elliot Page (Then known as Ellen Page), Micheal Cera, Jennifer Garner and Jason Bateman did a fantastic job and feel like people you may know in real life. It especially felt real to me as the movie was shot in Vancouver, (a popular shooting location for taxes purposes). A highlight of the movie with one of my fa favourite actors J.K Simmons in a rather tame performance yet is very loving and understated.

I love the music of the movie, especially the loving performance by Page & Cera at the end of film as a lovely bow at the end. The art direction in general is very unique and feels appropriate for the place and time.

That is all I have to say it is a definite recommend by me.

Have a good day

Cheers 🍻
